## How the OpusDNS billing system works

### Understanding the Pre-Payment Balance Model

OpusDNS operates on a pre-payment model. You top up your account balance first, then use it to pay for domain registrations, renewals, transfers, and services.

### Where to See Your Balance

**Path:** Left sidebar → Settings → Billing

**Direct URL:** `/settings/billing`

### What You'll See

The Billing page shows a **"Current balance"** card displaying your available balance. The description reads: "Your balance is used for domain registrations, renewals, and other services." An **"Add Funds"** button is available on this card.

#### How It Works

1. **Top up your balance** — Add funds via bank transfer (recommended) or credit card.
2. **Use services** — When you register, renew, or transfer a domain, the cost is deducted from your balance.
3. **Monitor balance** — Check Settings → Billing regularly to ensure you have sufficient funds.

#### Important Notes

- If your balance is insufficient, you won't be able to complete registrations, renewals, or transfers.
- Auto-renewals also draw from your balance — ensure you maintain enough funds to cover upcoming renewals.
- For billing questions, contact support via the support center (linked on the Payments page).
- The system note states: "The system is available to you as a 'Pre-Payment System' for immediate start."
