How do I set up Multi-Factor Authentication (2FA) for my OpusDNS account?
After signing up and confirming your email, you are required to set up two-factor authentication (2FA).
This ensures that your domains and valuable assets are protected, making it impossible for anyone to access them without the second factor—typically your smartphone.

1. Install an authenticator app
We recommend using an authenticator app on a mobile device that you typically carry with you.
Well-established and commonly used options include:
-
Google Authenticator
-
FreeOTP
-
Microsoft Authenticator
Other authenticator apps can also be used. However, the ones listed above are among the most widely supported and easiest to use.
2. Scan the QR code to set up access in your authenticator app
Scan the QR code provided by us, which creates a new entry for your account within the app.
The authenticator app continuously generates a six-digit code, known as a one-time password (OTP), which is valid only for a short period—typically 30 to 60 seconds.
Enter your code and additionally assign a custom name to the device on which the app is configured.
For security reasons, the code changes frequently and cannot be reused.

3. Log in using the one-time password (OTP) from the app
For all future logins, after entering your username and password, you will be asked to provide the one-time password (OTP) from the authenticator app you set up. This ensures your login remains highly secure, keeping your domain portfolio safe.
Important: No code is sent via SMS, WhatsApp, email, or any other messaging service. You must actively open the authenticator app and enter the displayed code manually.
