August 2026 # Was ist der OpusDNS MCP Server und wofür kann ich ihn nutzen? ### Was ist der OpusDNS MCP Server? Der OpusDNS MCP Server macht die OpusDNS Domain API über das Model Context Protocol (MCP) für KI Assistenten wie Claude nutzbar. Statt selbst API Aufrufe zu schreiben, kann man in normaler Sprache mit seinem Domain Portfolio arbeiten, zum Beispiel "zeig mir alle .com Domains, die in 30 Tagen ablaufen" oder "verlängere example.com um ein Jahr". Der Server ist gehostet. Es muss nichts lokal installiert werden, man verbindet einfach einen MCP fähigen Client damit. Der Server stellt neun Tools bereit, die sich in drei Gruppen einteilen lassen. #### 1. Die API erkunden und einzelne Aktionen ausführen - `search_operations`: durchsucht den API Katalog nach passenden Befehlen, zum Beispiel "renew domain" - `describe_operation`: zeigt Parameter und Sicherheitshinweise zu einer gefundenen Operation - `call_operation`: führt die Operation tatsächlich aus #### 2. Massenänderungen an vielen Domains gleichzeitig - `bulk_preview`: zeigt risikofrei, welche und wie viele Domains ein Filter (Selector) trifft, bevor irgendetwas passiert - `bulk_submit`: führt die Änderung für genau diese Domains aus, nach Freigabe - `job_batch_status`: zeigt den Fortschritt eines laufenden Batches (queued, running, succeeded, failed) - `job_batch_control`: pausiert, setzt fort, wiederholt oder bricht einen Batch ab #### 3. Portfolio auf einen Blick - `portfolio_summary`: liefert ohne weitere Angaben eine Gesamtübersicht, wie groß das Portfolio ist und was demnächst abläuft - `portfolio_query`: liefert gefilterte, auf bestimmte Felder reduzierte Listen, damit auch große Portfolios nicht den Kontext des Modells sprengen ### Typische Anwendungsbeispiele - Eine einzelne Domain verlängern: erst mit `search_operations` nach "renew domain" suchen, dann mit `call_operation` ausführen. - Ablaufende Domains finden: `portfolio_query` mit Filter auf TLD und Ablaufdatum, zum Beispiel alle .com Domains, die in 30 Tagen ablaufen. - Viele Domains gegen Transfer sperren: erst `bulk_preview` mit dem Selector (zum Beispiel "alle .com, die in 30 Tagen ablaufen") zur Kontrolle, dann `bulk_submit` mit denselben Parametern zur Ausführung.
