How to Add Funds via Bank Transfer

OpusDNS uses a pre-payment model. You must have sufficient balance to register domains, renew, or use paid services. Bank transfer is the recommended method to add funds.

Path: Left sidebar → Settings → Payments

What You'll See

A panel opens titled "Transfer Funds" with the description "Choose how to add funds to your account balance." Two options appear:

  • Bank Transfer (labeled "Recommended") — "Transfer funds directly from your bank account."
  • SEPA Direct Debit (labeled "Soon") — Not yet available.

Click Bank Transfer to see the transfer details.

Bank Transfer Details Page

The page shows your organization's specific banking details for the appropriate currency:

Fields displayed:

  • Bank — The bank name
  • Account holder — The account holder name
  • IBAN — Your designated IBAN for transfers
  • BIC / SWIFT — Bank identifier code
  • Reference — "Customer number: [your customer number]" — ⚠️ This is critical! Always include this reference so your payment can be matched to your account.
  • Address — Bank address
  • Processing Time — Estimated time until funds are credited
  • Additional Notes — Any extra instructions

Each field has a copy button — click to copy the value to your clipboard (a "Copied" notification appears).

Step-by-Step

  1. Navigate to SettingsBilling in the left sidebar.
  2. On the Current Balance card, note your current balance. Click "Add Funds".
  3. Select "Bank Transfer".
  4. Copy the banking details (IBAN, BIC, reference) using the copy buttons.
  5. In your banking app, create a transfer:
  • To: The IBAN shown
  • Amount: The amount you wish to add
  • Reference/Subject: Your customer number as shown — include this exactly
  1. Submit the transfer in your banking app.
  2. Wait for processing — once received, your balance will be credited.

Important Notes

  • Always use the correct reference (your customer number). Without it, matching your payment to your account can be delayed significantly.
  • Processing time varies by bank and currency. The page shows the estimated time.
  • The system note states: "The system is available to you as a 'Pre-Payment System' for immediate start. Top-ups can be made to the account listed below. Once we have received the money, we will credit you with the corresponding amount as quickly as possible."
  • For billing questions, contact support via the support center (linked on the page).

Alternative: Credit Card Top-Up

If you have a credit card saved under Settings → Payments:

  1. Click the "Top-up" button on your saved card.
  2. Enter the amount.
  3. Note: A 3.5% convenience fee applies to credit card top-ups (your balance is credited with the amount minus the fee).
  4. You may see a Stripe verification popup if your card requires 3D Secure.
